Together We Achieve

Welcome to Ely College

an 11-18 Academy located in the beautiful city of Ely.

Ely College has  over 1200 students and a very committed staff with a shared vision to deliver a truly great school of which our community can be proud. We want every student to receive an inspiring education, equipping them with the skills and knowledge they need to succeed beyond the classroom.

We are proud of the achievements of our students, and of the provision on offer. We hope that you find this website a useful source of information about our work, and look forward to welcoming you to the college.

Our Values

The academy is sponsored and supported by the Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT), which was founded at the 'Outstanding' Swavesey Village College, Cambridgeshire.

Cambridge Meridian Academies Trust (CMAT) exists to provide, support and champion high-quality education at the heart of local communities.

  • Achievement for all
  • Valuing People
  • A high quality learning environment
  • The pursuit of excellence
  • Extending the boundaries of learning

Our House System

The Houses provide crucial support and guidance, and the needs of every student are acknowledged and understood by their tutor and senior tutor. The system enables individual progress to be monitored much more closely and the House is the key focus of the relationship between the academy and families, with siblings joining the same House.

  • GCSE results will still be emailed to those who can't or don't want to come on to site on the day. We are committed to making personal contact with every student on the day results are released to provide personal advice and guidance around next steps. #Year11Matters

  • RESULTS DAY: You can now book a timed slot to collect your results in school. Safety will be our top priority on the day but we look forward to welcoming back Year 11 students to celebrate & offer guidance on their next steps. See you there! #Year11Matters

  • House Trophy 2020 - Everyone's a winner! More than ever, this has been a year of unity and collaboration, so let's celebrate 2019/2020 together as the year when we were all winners!

  • Ordinarily we end the college year by calculating the various House points and announcing the 'winning' House for the year. We have taken an extraordinary decision this year to share the 'Martin Bacon House Trophy' between all four Houses.

  • The Senior Leadership would like to say thank you for your support in these difficult times and remind all our students to relax over summer and take great care!

  • An introduction from Mr Warburton, our new Principal!

  • Congratulations to all @elycollege students who contributed to our active distance this week!! We managed to rack up a huge 735 miles in support of @MalcolmWhales! Well done all and have a great summer!!!

  • Latest for our Yr6 Transition students from Mrs Goodey, all about your first day!

  • It has been the honour of my life to lead Ely College as Principal, and I can assure you that I will continue to work in the best interests of our college and community in my new role.

  • Simon has been familiarising himself with the college and the staff in recent weeks and will be writing to you all himself in the coming days. It is already clear that he will bring great energy and talent to the role.

There are lots of great things going on at Ely College. Keep up-to-date with everything with our calender.
